What are you after?

Why Brunt

Jade opened Brunt after ten years in big gyms where nobody watched your form.

So here, someone always does. Every class has a coach and no more than eight people, and the programme builds week on week. You’ll lift more in March than you did in January, and you’ll know why.

No mirrors to pose in, no music you can’t think over, and nobody selling you supplements at the desk. Just barbells, kettlebells, a rower or two, and people who’ll learn your name.

Timetable

Four kinds of class. All of them coached.

New to lifting? Start with Beginners’ Strength. Four weeks later you’ll be in the main classes with everyone else.

  • Strength. Squat, press, deadlift, pull. Heavy, slow, and coached.
  • Conditioning. Short, hard circuits. Rowers, bikes, kettlebells.
  • Mobility. Forty minutes to undo sitting at a desk.
  • Open gym. Your own programme, with a coach on the floor.

Book any class in the app, up to an hour before it starts.

    Coaches

Four coaches. They’ll learn your name.

You’ll see the same faces at the same times each week, so they know what you lifted last Tuesday and what your knee was doing.

Ring us or tap the button. Pick any class, or a quiet slot if you’d rather start on your own.

    2. Fifteen minutes first

A coach asks what you’re after and any injuries, then watches you squat and bend. Nothing heavy.

Everything scaled to you. Afterwards, if you liked it, we’ll say which plan fits. If not, that’s fine too.

    Questions

    Before you come.

I’ve never lifted a weight. Is that OK?

Most of our members hadn’t when they joined. Beginners’ Strength is four weeks of learning the lifts with a light bar, and nobody moves on until they’re ready.

Am I too old, or too unfit?

No. Everything is scaled to you on the day, and Lena works with people coming back after years off or an injury.

    Is there a contract?

No. You pay monthly and give 30 days’ notice to leave. You can pause for up to two months a year for free.

    What should I bring?

Clothes you can move in, flat trainers and a water bottle. We have towels, showers and lockers.

How do I book a class?

In the Brunt app, up to an hour before. Your first session we’ll book for you when you ring.

Can I just come and look first?

Yes. Drop in any weekday evening and have a look round. The kettle’s always on.

Your first session is on us.
